FOR YOUR FAMILY

Family Secret Santa Without the Spreadsheet

When relatives live in different homes, a single draw saves everyone from coordinating names by hand. Agree on the rules before the first name is drawn.

Set up the family list

Ask each household who wants in, including teenagers if your family agrees. Choose one gift per person, a shared price limit and an exchange date. Invite each participant by link or code so everyone gets their own private match.

Handle household exclusions

If two people should not draw each other, add that pair as an exclusion before the draw. For example, exclude partners who already exchange gifts. Excluding every person in a small household can leave no possible assignment; check feasibility before drawing.

Include relatives far away

Share the room link with distant family and agree on shipping dates. Wish lists can include sizes and alternatives, while delivery notes can use a pickup location instead of a home address.

Common questions

Can partners be excluded from each other?

Yes. The host can add a pair exclusion before the draw. If there are too many exclusions, change the rules until a valid draw is possible.

Do distant relatives need an account?

No. They can join by link or room code, then save their personal link to return later.
